Ricky L.'s Story
Life
Lets see. Ispent 3 years active Navy on a Helicopter Carrier, where I handled launching and landing air crafts, and the handling of various highly explosive ammunitions and missles. I loved the traveling while in the Navy, and saw half the world. I returned home and took back my job at Parker Hannifin, and advanced up to set up. I did 2 years of Navy Reserve, and then crossed over to the Army National Guard as a front line medic. I did this for three years and then transferred to Army Reserve Mechanized Hospital Unit in Syracuse, and after six months there, I was activated to Desert Storm. At the time of my activation, I was working now for Wayne County Nursing Home as a Nurses Aide. After Desert Storm I returned to my job, and later started my own at home business as a Home Inspector. I left the County job in 1999 because of a serious back injury, and went to work for Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES as a Paraprofessional, and worked with Autistic children. I resigned from the reserves in 1994. To back up some, I was married in 1985 to my first wife, and had a step daughter, and a step son, and my first son Jaime. I was separated in 1986, and divorced in 1991 after a long battle of tracking her down from State to State. I was then remarried in Jan. 1991 and am still married to my new wife Darlene today. With my wife I have a step son Tyler, and another son Luke. I still have stayed in contact with my step daughter Kay and she has a daughter Kiana. Tyler has 4 kids and my wife has a step daughter from her first marriage also, and she has 2 kids, so that is a total of 7 grand kids that are really wonderful. I no...Expand for more
w work for The Church Of Jesus Christ Christ Of Latter Day Saints, in Palmyra. I am in charge of all histoical buildings, and site, as well as the Temple, and two Chapels. I have a staff of 2 full timers, and 1 part timer. It was a dream job, and it was really cool that I got it. My wife and I also have ran a business out of our home for 7 years now, and I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I also enjoy working and playing around with my computer, and love tackling new programs, with Excel being my newest. I just wish that we had this technology when I was in school. I am also a member of the church that I work for, and have been a member for 16 years now. I have held several positions there, and currently I am the Elders Quarum President. These positions that we call "Callings", is a voluntary position. I invite all to come to our Hill Cumorah Pageant in July. I would like to hear from all my school mates, and catch up on what is going on in their lives.
New up date May 9, 2008. I recently was offered a position with American Standards Maintenance Company, to come on board with them as a their new Northeast Regional Manager. I get to travel alot, and it has its good points and bad points. I train people, and manage others as a big part of my position. Recently back on the home front, we took custody of my two older grand kids. This past fall I put together a dvd in remembrance of the 9/11 attacks and the war in Iraq. If any of you would like a copy, just e-mail me and it is free to you, but have kleenex's ready as it will draw a tear from you. Hope to hear from many of you, so e-mail me.
